After Breakdown, Proppants Industry Discovers Need for Supply Chain Management
DENVER, COLORADO--July 27, 2012--Written by John Egan for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--When the demand for a good is located far from its supply, logistics companies are needed to move goods smoothly through the supply chain, linking producers with consumers. The supply chain for proppants, stretched for several years by skyrocketing demand, broke in late 2011 and early 2012. But a wide range of companies involved in the mining, transport, storage and use of proppants say they are working hard to fix the broken links and strengthen the supply chain to reduce the chance of future disruptions.
