E.U. Reports on Nuclear Power Plant Security

GALWAY, IRELAND--June 20 , 2012 --Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) The European Union (E.U.) is working towards making nuclear power plants (NPPs) safer following the publication of a new security guide by the Ad Hoc Group on Nuclear Security (AHGNS), which was established after the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear disaster in Japan last year.

The group has spent almost a year compiling an extensive report into the safety of Europe's nuclear power plants, resulting in a guide highlighting 32 good practices and six recommendations for the security at nuclear plants.
