Light SA's 25-Megawatt Hydropower Plant Begins Commercial Operations in Brazil

CORDOBA, ARGENTINA--May 30, 2012--Researched by Industrial Info Resources Latin America (Cordoba, Argentina)--Brazilian company Light SA (PINK:LGXSY) (Río de Janeiro, Brazil) , a subsidiary of power utility company CompanhiaEnergética de Minas Gerais SA (NYSE:CIG) (Cemig) (Belo Horizonte, Brasil), recently began commercial operations of the Paracambi hydropower plant. This new facility has a generating capacity of 25 megawatts (MW) and is located in territory of three cities in Rio de Janeiro state: Paracambi (about 77 kilometers from Rio de Janeiro), Itaguai and Pirai.
