Final 700-Megawatt Unit of Three Gorges Hydropower Project Begins Operation

BEIJING--May 30, 2012-Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Following its successful startup in early May, Unit 27 of the underground power station at China's Three Gorges hydropower plant passed the 72-hour continuous full-load trial operation on May 23. This marks that the last 700-megawatt (MW) unit of the Three Gorges Project is ready to put into commercial operation, according to the Mechanical & Electrical Construction Company Limited of China Gezhouba Group (Yichang, Hubei), the installation and commissioning contractor for the project.
