Natural Gas Projects Push Louisiana to More Than $7.5 Billion in Planned Second-Quarter Project Starts
SUGAR LAND--May 23, 2012--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Louisiana has more than $7.5 billion in planned capital and maintenance projects that are planned to start during the second quarter of this year. Chief among these projects is Cheniere Energy Incorporated's (AMEX:LNG) (Houston, Texas) construction of a gas liquefaction plant at its Sabine Pass terminal on the Louisiana Gulf Coast. The facility was originally a liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal, but with the dramatic increase in shale gas production, the U.S. has little need for LNG imports.
